Lamar is currently riding high on the Australian charts with his #2 smash hit soundtrack album Black Panther: The Album and collaborations with SZA (‘All the Stars’), The Weeknd (‘Pray for Me’) and Skrillex (‘Humble’) – all top 5 hits. As well as his chart domination, Lamar made history earlier this month to become the first ever popular music artist to take out the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for music.
Having recently taken the DAMN. tour across the UK and Europe, set lists were built from Kendrick Lamar’s multi-Platinum selling catalogue, including good kid, m.A.A.d city (2012) – featuring ‘Swimming Pools (Drank)’, and ‘Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe’ – To Pimp A Butterfly (2015) – featuring ‘King Kunta’, ‘Alright’, ‘i’ – and compilation album untitled unmastered.
In addition to the venue’s conditions of entry, the following Items are not allowed into the arena.
- Backpacks, sports bags and any bags larger than 30cm x 30cm
- Bottles and cans (all sizes)
- Posters, banners or flags larger than 1m x 1m
- Professional cameras and point & shoot cameras (personal camera phones will be permitted)
Cloaking is available at Rod Laver Arena free of charge. Patrons may cloak items at the yellow booth on the oval prior to entering the Arena. Cloaking will also be available at the internal information booth between doors 4 & 5.
All general admission queuing will be conducted via the Southern Oval Entrance.
We encourage all patrons to arrive no earlier than 08:00am on the day of the show. Early arriving patrons please ensure you eat and drink throughout the day to look after yourself. Venue security will not be responsible for keeping the order of the line, the line will be self-policed, and we strongly encourage you to look after one another, and respect where each person is in the line. There will be a Café open (weekdays only) and drinking water fountains are available near the queueing area.
As a standard condition of entry into Rod Laver Arena, patrons will be subject to searches, wanding and ticket check. We encourage patrons to arrive early and limit the number of items brought to this event to alleviate queue times.
Public transport is the quickest and easiest way to get to and from an event at Melbourne & Olympic Parks, with train, tram and bus options all operating frequently to the precinct. Patrons are strongly encouraged to catch public transport and further details, including transport route information, can be found here.
Limited parking is available in the Eastern Plaza car park via Olympic Boulevard and discounted advance bookings are available online (bookings must be made by midnight the day prior to the event). Further detail regarding parking options for the precinct is available here
