Getting to Rod Laver Arena

Rod Laver Arena is easily accessed from all directions. For major events public transport is most effective with trams, trains and buses all operating in the area.

Rod Laver Arena is a 10 minute walk from the CBD via Birrarung Marr and the Tanderrum Bridge. Check out our precinct map for further details on our location.

Public Transport

Getting to Rod Laver Arena is easy with Public Transport. The route 70 tram drops guests right at the door, with Richmond Station and Flinders Street Station both within walking distance.

Car Parking

All Melbourne & Olympic Park venues are serviced by the Melbourne Park multi-level car park at Entrance D, Olympic Boulevard.

Limited car parking is sometimes available in the Northern Carpark from Entrance A, Batman Avenue. If you’re going to drive, we always suggest planning your parking ahead of time, and pre-booking online to secure your spot.

We encourage guests to cycle to Rod Laver Arena. Bicycle parking is available outside Rod Laver Arena and Melbourne Arena, along Olympic Boulevard.

Cyclists must provide their own locks, and Melbourne & Olympic Parks is not responsible for any loss or damage to bicycles secured on site.

We’re committed to ensuring our venue is safe, comfortable and accessible for all guests. Rod Laver Arena offers accessible seating and is equipped with lifts and ramps to ensure you can move around safely.

Wheelchair bays and accessible seating must be pre-booked through the Melbourne Park Accessible Seating service:

  • Reach them by phone on 03 9286 1208;

Conditions of Entry

All guests have the right to enjoy events in safety and comfort. As such, we ask all guests read and understand our conditions of entry before coming to Rod Laver Arena.

In line with international major venue security standards, backpacks are no longer allowed into Rod Laver Arena for concerts and sporting events. This includes handbags that can be worn as a backpack. All other bags must be under 30x30cm.

Backpacks will only be permitted for the Australian Open and family events such as Disney on Ice.

Some events may have additional restrictions around bottles, cameras and bags. Event pages will be updated in the days leading up to the event with further details you should be aware of.

Upgrading Melbourne Park

We’re currently undergoing a major redevelopment, which will see our facilities continue to improve for our guests.

As we’re in the middle of significant works, some access routes through the venue might change from time to time. For your safety stick to designated pathways and follow signage. If you see something that’s not quite right, please let us know

Tickets to our events

Ticketek Australia is the main seller of tickets to events at our venues, but Ticketmaster is the only authorised seller of tickets for the Australian Open. Guests who purchase tickets from any other outlet may not be granted entry to events.

Our guide to avoiding ticket scams will provide you with important information safely purchasing tickets to our events.

We do not support the re-sale of tickets outside of the Ticketek Marketplace. Guests trying to use our social media channels to on-sale tickets may have their posts removed.
